The man who made Mercedes, drove his last home race with the team last weekend before he inevitably moves to Ferrari for the 2025 season. Not only that, Lewis Hamilton broke not 1, not 2, not even 5 but 6 records broken in 1 race!

While most were expecting Russell on the top step in Silverstone, the car turned its back on him with a water system issue, which caused the pole sitter to retire. Leaving Hamilton to be the only Sliver and Black car left on track.

And this...did not go to waste.

Lap 38, where the gloom of the clouds subsided, bringing out the sun rays on track. Hamilton, along with multiple other drivers, bolted off the slick tyres, opting for different compounds. He pitted for soft compound tyres while Norris stayed out for an extra lap. Wrong move.

Mclaren had messed up their pitstop for Norris, a 4.5 second pitstop. This paved way for Hamilton to steal the lead away from the young driver. The new race leader, it was finally time.

Norris's choice of tyres seemed to backfire on the team. He struggled with the soft tyres that the team pitted for, which allowed a certain Dutch WDC winner to overtake the struggling McLaren at Stowe corner, clinching P2.

As the checkered flag waved, the Sliver and Black Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton, soared through the finishing line, securing his first win since the 2021 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. Tear streamed down in his helmet, (along with quite literally everyone else's face) as he drove the circuit with the flag of the United Kingdom in his hand before stopping at Parc fermé.  "I'm still crying!" he exclaimed through the radio. Chills all around as Lewis climbed out of the Mercedes, standing tall with the flag aloft.

945 days.

6 new records broken.

One last home race with Mercedes.

He did it.
