Rest in peace Alfa Romeo and welcome Kick Sauber! (I can't keep up with these names)
It was announced yesterday, December 15th, that the new name and sponsor for the Sauber F1 team would be after the streaming platform,"kick.com" for the remainder of the years before joining forces with Audi in 2026.
With the Australian casino company "Stake", leveling up their partnership to solo title partner from Co-title partner, the full name for the F1 team would be, 'Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber'.
They've also announced that the chassis of next year’s car will be known as the 'KICK Sauber C44'. (Kinda cool ngl)
The team confirmed the new partnership with a video of them cooly getting in and out of the car with the Kick logo on the Halo of the car.
Soooo, I get the fuzz about the team name. "Like ew what even is that name, it's so bad??". I feel you. Can't imagine saying "Bottas/Guanyu in Kick Sauber!" Trust me, can't get my head around it. Alfa Romeo has been around for 5 years and it has grown on us. Because well, it's just sounds cool. But the more sponsors pay, the better the budget on the team. Which will benefit both drivers tremendously.
The only team left without an official name for the 2024 season is 'AlphaTauri', which is still hidden under wraps from the public. Though, most fans suspect that their name will be "Racing Bulls" from the rumors around gossip pages and so called 'leaked information'. (To be fair, it sounds much better than the other new rebranding). Guess we'll have to sit around to find out!
